Photos coming soon !

Bromo !

java is really quite different to Bali as it has become very Muslim . But as we started to climb up the steep winding road to Bromo small Buddhist temples started to pop up out of the undergrowth . We stayed in a small cabin called Youchis and at 3:00 in the morning we got a knock on the door . It was our driver, ready to drive us up to the look out point to see the sun come up over the amazing volcano BROMO.
As the sun came up, the landscape revealed 3 massive volcanoes, 2 of them smoking .

After the look out point we drove to the base of the mighty bromo.
The Jeep nearly feel apart as we hit the lunar landscape.
We climbed to the top and looked down in to the mouth of the beast.

Next Day we drove to yogyakarta, a very artistic city with loads of street art and great food served on The side of the road.
We met some locals and enjoyed the energy of the city.

This morning the call of the local mosque woke us up at 4 as its Ramadan. So we hit the road and head to the airport.

Bangkok here we come!

week 2-3 find an island; look inward.

The Island of Nusa Lembongan was fantastic with a view of the volcano G Agung (3142m) from our balcony .
We spent 3 nights on the island filling our time with surfing ,eating and exploring the semi wild beaches.

After Nusa we jumped back on the ferry to Sanur and then a bus to Ubud .
Ubud is a Magical place with a Buddhist temple in ever house, the smell of insents hangs in the air .
There is a monkey forest with hundreds of horney Balinese macques ready to snatch your camera or hat .
The food in Ubud was out standing with Uni Oka the highlight, Balinese style roasted suckling pig ! It was amazing, sitting on the floor with the locals munching crackling.

Next stop from Ubud to west Bali, Balian beach where I had my last surf in Bali . Very chilled, surfers only kind of place.
We stayed in are own villa with a view of a small beach .
Walking down to the beach we found a massive cave that led to a nother beach with not a sole in sight .
We could have stayed for ever

I sold my board to some ozzy red neck for $150 before heading of to JAVA .
A bus ride from hell that took 7 very long hours . Words can not explain this ride to Probilinggo.

week 1 * The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. ~ Lao-Tzu

So the journey has began*
First stop Bali. We have already spent 10 days on this fantastic Island.
We landed in Denpasar on the 4th of July and were hit by 100% humidity and hectic traffic.
So the next day we decided to rent a motobike and head south to Ulu Watu .
A magical place with breath taking cliffside temples and the best surf in the world .
We stayed in some very nice and simple home stays,$18 a night with breakfast. Great pancakes!
We discovered Bintang, Nasi goreng (beer and fried rice) cheap and tasty.

Padang padang was the highlight with the best left hand waves I have ever surfed.
To get to the beach you have to walk through a temple with monkeys and old ladies selling sarongs and coconuts
Also a tight fit through a cave done to get to the sand .
We visited most of the surf breaks including Dreamland, Bingin, Padang and offcourse Ulu Watu.

After Ulu Watu we packed up the bike and headed back to the chaos of Seminyak (intense traffic madness two backbacks & a surf board) and handed back the MOTO .

Next day (Tuesday the 10th ) we jumped on a public ferry chickens and all headed for Nosa Lambongon a small island S/E of Bali
